Agripark Valentina was created by Agropromex, a group of Georgian companies, founded in 2021.
Our ambition is to create a site home to agricultural, tourist and retail endeavours. The agricultural effort will focus on export-oriented almond and various other crop cultivation. Whilst still in the early stages of its development, the Park has achieved important milestones since its creation. To date, the company acquired land of more than 130 hectares and planted 65 hectares worth of almond saplings. In addition, we have established relationships with local communities and authorities and a partnership with renowned experts in almond production as well as leading agronomists from Israel, Spain, Portugal and others.

Combining Georgia’s natural proclivity for agriculture and its ever-increasing popularity amongst tourists, pairing the two seems like an obvious route. The economic characteristics of the country lend itself to business in all sectors. A visa-free regime with 98 countries is especially attractive to the travel industry.
Tourism is one of Georgia’s fastest growing sectors in its domestic economy, and there remains potential for further growth. During recent years the number of visitors to Georgia has increased as the country’s popularity also rose, and with this came significant contributions to the growth of other tourism related sectors. To foster the growth of the tourism sector the Government invests heavily in the development of transportation, infrastructure, and renovation.
The Georgian Government is currently working on a national strategy to develop Agro-tourism within the country, and has gained the support of:
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
The State Administration of Tourism
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)
The Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia
Soil Study: Characterisation, and subsequent management procedures
Installation of utilities on site; electrical supply and irrigational systems
The design and implementation of a fertilisation program, Land shaping and weed control measures
Implementation of fencing structures, and perimeter management
Climate study findings report
Establishment of a phytosanitary control program
The majority of progress at the park so far has been in establishing the orchard. Design expertise and consulting support was sought from a Spanish company – Nogaltec Ingenieros S.L. – renowned experts in nut fruits, with vast experience in the field and having provided technical advice on orchards for more than 30 years
In the spring of 2022, 20,000 almond seedlings were planted on the site. Again, the expertise of global experts was used; the leading Spanish nursery Nurfruits (Viveros Nurfruits S.L.). Three almond varieties were identified as suitable for the climatic conditions of the region; Makako® and Penta®, and 10,000 seedlings of 2 varieties were planted. In the spring of 2023, a further 10,000 seedlings of the third variety, Marta®, are to be planted, further bolstering crop diversification.
Agripark Valentina expects our first almond harvest in the third year after planting, and based on anecdotal data from Nurfruits, project a yield of 350 kg/ha at this stage.
As the trees grow into maturity, so too will the yield, reaching a projected maximum output yield of 2400 kg/ha by the eighth year after planting. With proper care, similar yield levels are typically maintained for 20 – 25 years.
Based on initial forecasts, data from Nurfruits, and performing simplistic projections of retail prices and costs, the 7-year outlook on commercials for the park’s almond production look strong. Global almond consumption increases year on year, and industry experts are forecasting continued growth for the foreseeable future.
